Army.3 He was assigned to the 66th Infantry Division in November 1943 at North Africa.2 He was assigned on 22 January 1944 at Italy.2 He died on 26 January 1944 during a ship's landing at Italy at age 21 when the ship he was in encountered an enemy mine and blew up. Officially, he was declared to be missing in action as his body was never recovered.1,4
