     Col. Thomas Johnson whose parents are unknown was born on 4 July 1812 at Montgomery County, Kentucky.5,2,4,6 He appeared on the census of 1850 at Montgomery County, Kentucky.7 He appeared on the census of 1860 at Montgomery County, Kentucky.8 He began military service between 1862 and 1865 at Kentucky; 2nd Battalion, Kentucky Mounted Rifles completed its organization during the late fall of 1862. The unit was attached to the Department of East Tennessee, then the Department of Western Virginia and East Tennessee. It skirmished in various conflicts in the mountainous region of Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia. Early in 1865 it disbanded. The field officers were Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Johnson and Major O.S. Tenney.9 He appeared on the census of 1870 at Aaron's Run, Kentucky.10 He married Elizabeth Peters, daughter of Capt. Albert Galletin S. C. Peters and Sarah Ann Calk, in 1871.5,4 Col. Thomas Johnson appeared on the census of 1880 at Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.11 Sarah Ann Calk was living in 1889 at Montgomery County, Kentucky.2 Col. Thomas Johnson appeared on the census of 1 June 1900 at Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.12 He died on 7 April 1906 at Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, at age 93.13 He was buried after 7 April 1906 at Machpelah Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.14

Mercer's and Weedon's 3rd Virginia Regiment between 1777 and 1779 at Williamsburg, Virginia.7 He married Susan Gooch between 1778 and 1779 at Wake County, North Carolina.14,15,16,17,18 Daniel O'Rear was in military service for three months as a Private in Capt. Richard Allen's Company of Col. Hampton's Regiment on 1 September 1779 at Wilkes County, North Carolina.7,9 County court records at Wilkes County, North Carolina, circa 1779 contain a restraining order issued against John O'Rear and his son, Daniel O'Rear for threatening bodily harm against a neighboring planter. The family moved to Georgia soon afterward.4 He was in military service for three months as orderly sergeant in Capt. John G. Lowman's Company of Col. William's Regiment when he was captured in the fall of Charleston and paroled home. During his parole, he volunteered in Capt. Martin Gamble's Company of Col. Cleveland's Regiment for five or six weeks fighting the Tories. in 1780 at Charleston, South Carolina.7 He appeared on the census of 1800 at Ashe County, North Carolina.10 He received a pension for service in the regular Army and the Militia after 1834 at Fauquier County, Virginia.19 He resided in September 1838 at Bledsoe County, Tennessee.7 He resided in 1839 at Chattooga County, Georgia.7 He died circa 1859 at Summerville, Georgia; Wanda Lowry has 1839-1840.5,2,6,20,9,21 He was buried after 1859 at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Trion, Georgia.22
