     Simeon Arcaster O'Rear was a coal miner.1 He was called "Sim."1 He was born on 22 September 1878 at Bremen, Alabama.2,3 He was in military service with Company I of the 2nd Regiment of the Alabama Infantry during the Sapanish-American War bein transferred on 1Jul 1898 to Company K. During this time while in Jacksonville, Florida, he had measles which affected his lungs from 27 May 1898 to 31 October 1898.4 He married Julia Andrews circa 1905.1 Simeon Arcaster O'Rear married Alma Ozella Parvin on 15 October 1908 at Jasper, Alabama.1 Simeon Arcaster O'Rear appeared on the census of 1910 at Walker County, Alabama.5 He applied for a pension on 19 August 1929 on 19 August 1929; which was approved.4 He died on 14 June 1960 at Jasper, Alabama, at age 81; due to prostate cancer which had metastasized to other parts of the body.6,3 He was buried after 14 June 1960 at Oakhill Cemetery, Walker County, Georgia.4
