---------------   Lackey Categories   ---------------

Listed below are the Source Templates designed by Wholly Genes arranged according to citation category names given in Richard S. Lackey, Cite Your Sources (Jackson: University of Mississippi, 1980). Each category shows the template for Full Footnote (FF), Short Footnote (SF), and Bibliography (B) with the appropriate Source Elements. As noted in statements by Wholly Genes, the templates should be reviewed along with the examples given in the cited books and/or in other style manuals.  The user should then make changes as thought best for the particular source document being referenced.

In reviewing the templates, I often find certain ones which don't quite fit the particular source and thus make changes in the Source Definition Screen (Output Forms tab) to the Patterns according to how I think they should best fit the source. I include a few standard changes that I make below and designate them by LH to distinguish them from the standard templates.   I do not claim that my interpretation is better than Wholly Genes, only different.

Remember that the templates are Wholly Genes (or in a few cases, my) interpretation of the various categories listed and may or may not always fit a particular source. So, if a template doesn’t work the way you wish, try using a different template or modify one to fit yours needs.
