59. The Computer Age
With the rapid emergence of computers and e-mail, the O’Rear family has been playing its part. Two key examples.
First Bob O’Rear was an employee of Microsoft and in 1982, information from their web site says that he sent over 4000 International Telexes.1 We all wonder about Bob’s stock options.
Paul A. O’Rear is a contributor and maintains the O’Rear Family Sketches on the Web. Microsoft also acknowledges his contributions and the contributions of his company, Sageline.2 The web site also shows his photo.
Many members of the family have set up web sites either related to their jobs, their immediate family, the broader family history, or their interests (now quite diverse). Here’s a list of the ones that are currently active.
