KEY GENEALOGICAL QUESTS
Based on discussions from Lee Hoffman and Paul A. O’Rear, for those of you that have been bit by the Genealogical Bug, here’s some unanswered questions. Pick one and get to work!
The O’Rear family sword is now shown not to have come from Ireland with the original immigrant, but how did it come by the story that it came from an earlier timeframe? Who was the first owner? And the subsequent owners? When was it repaired (i.e., the hilt changed) and who owned it then?
When did John O'Rea come to Virginia and by what route?
What is the origin of the 1688 arrival date shown in the Sketches? The earliest recorded date that currently exists is the 1709 deeds in Richmond Co., VA (from Donna Sarchet).
What was the true country of origin. Ireland?
Why the association with the Huguenots?
Where is Clove[r]field? Where are other key sites? Do photos of these exist? Where are they located on the maps?
Details of early Georgia ancestors.
Details of early O’Rea descendants in Virginia. Many questions remain.
List of Civil War vets on both sides. Other wars as well.
What is the origin of the Daniel O'Rea(r) that died in Barbados?
Where are the graves of our ancestors?
