1KATHY O'REAR (Costume Designer) stepped back into the 1950s to capture the colors and contours that distinguished the decade from the years that would follow.
O'Rear studied theater at San Diego State and transferred to UCLA where she majored in telecommunications and film. She subsequently held a variety of jobs including that of ABC-TV page and as a tour guide at Warner Bros. Studios.
But it was an introduction to Warner's Head of Wardrobe, Jack Delaney, that proved an important contact. Although she started out cleaning wardrobe warehouses, he sent her out on her first location job and continued to serve as a valued mentor. Working in both television and feature films, O'Rear climbed up the wardrobe department hierarchy and worked as a wardrobe supervisor on such films as "No Way Out," "The Milagro Beanfield War" and "Havana."
In 1985, she won an Emmy Award for Best Costumes for a two-part episode of "St. Elsewhere" that featured flashbacks into the hospital's early years. She designed Farrah Fawcett's costumes for the film "Extremities," and in 1990, became the costume designer on the popular TV show "Anything But Love."
Prior to her work on "Quiz Show," O'Rear designed costumes on "A River Runs Through It." She most recently completed the remake of "Miracle on 34th Street."
